An extra star for being part of my childhood

I read this one (and the series) in 1991, when I was in 7th grade. For context, I had read The Hobbit and LOTR in 1989.
Now, as before I read all the books quickly and enthusiastically, remembering most of it, but still surprised and pleased.
What I didn't remember was how fast it moves, and perhaps some of the one-dimensionality of the characters. That is easily-forgiven by me though, as this pentology holds a special place in my heart.
Without spoilers, I will add that the ending feels abrupt and almost forced, and perhaps leaves the reader someone unsatisfied with one particular primary relationship among the narrative strands.
Still, I'd read it again and again, possibly to remind myself of a time when I wished I could be Taran or Eilonwy and view the magical world they called home.
