The Uplift War

The Uplift War is a continuation of the saga of the Five Galaxies. It is a story of courage in the face of impossible odds and loyalty to the vast potential of life.

Two unconventional Tymbrimi and an honorable Thennanin are the only allies available to the embattled Terran humans and chims on the planet of Garth. The Gubru have attacked, shattering the planet's weak defenses, and are holding the human colonists hostage to force the Terrans to divulge the mysteries uncovered by the dolphin-manned starship Streaker. In doing so, the Gubru come dangerously close to uncovering an even more astounding secret hidden on the surface of Garth.

The chims and humans who call Garth home must rally to its defense by any means possible. They are aided in the revolt by their three Galactic allies, who use their knowledge of the Five Galaxies civilization to the advantage of the Terrans.

This story of mismatched foes in what seems to be a one-sided war is an exciting and thought-provoking consequence of the Streaker's mission, described in Startide Rising.
