Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights is, by common COn- sent, a work Of genius. It is a story set against the wild and primitive background of-the Yorkshire moors around Haworth, where, in gaunt grey parsonage that still stands, Emily Bronté lived in austere seclusion with her sisters, Charlotte and Anne, her brother, Branwell and her aged father.

The three gifted sisters all wrote books, under the pen-names of Ellis, Currer and Acton Bell. Wuthering Heights was Emily's only novel, but it stands out as a master- piece.
