Amazing beginning with makes you wonder about mutually assured destruction and nuclear deterrence. The second half of the book remains very imaginative but the story line loses its cohesion and reads as a filler. Still one of the best science fiction series I have read recently.

Honestly amazed by this Sci Fi book. It’s the sequel to Hyperion which won the Hugo award way back. The author broke away from the first person narration rotating through the main characters to very interesting prose where one character was narrating in the present while the others were narrated in the past. A lot of the sci fi concepts are very well thought through and still hold true to this day so I would say the book has aged well. I recommend this sequel to Hyperion.
