I used to clean other people's houses―now, I can't believe this home is actually mine. The charming kitchen, the quiet cul-de-sac, the huge yard where my kids can play. My husband and I saved for years to give our children the life they deserve.
Even though I'm wary of our new neighbor Mrs. Lowell, when she invites us over for dinner it's our chance to make friends. Her maid opens the door wearing a white apron, her hair in a tight bun. I know exactly what it's like to be in her shoes. But her cold stare gives me chills…
The Lowells' maid isn't the only strange thing on our street. I'm sure I see a shadowy figure watching us. My husband leaves the house late at night. And when I meet a woman who lives across the way, her words chill me to the bone: Be careful of your …

Did I make a terrible mistake moving my family here?
I thought I'd left my darkest secrets behind. But could this quiet suburban street be the most dangerous place of all?
One of my favorite authors. Loved this series.
I love this author and the twists and turns are so well thought out. Recommend starting at the first of the series.
I didn't think I could dislike this one more than the second book, but here we are.
It was super irritating from the get-go because Enzo is being all secretive and mysterious about what he's up to and not communicating with Millie about anything that's going on. This, to me, is completely contradictory to the character that has been built up in the other books. Irritating.
The biggest irk that I have...is the kids! These kids are 1000000000% NOT 9 and 11 years old. Or at least they fully act way older with how they speak. It was insanely distracting because I kept having to stop and remind myself that these are supposed to be kids and not teens/young adults.
And then we have Millie. Our favorite super naive oblivious MC. She has been turned into a paranoid wife who has lost her badass streak and instead sits in the …

And then we have Millie. Our favorite super naive oblivious MC. She has been turned into a paranoid wife who has lost her badass streak and instead sits in the corner wringing her hands and imagining scenarios instead of facing things head on and getting to the answers. And then her starting to turn into mini Nina with her housemaid.
Martha was the only character that I enjoyed. She was the only one that actually surprised me with how she's involved in the story. But that's in the epilogue, so I'm not going to mention it here.
The audiobook mentions that this is their last adventure. Hopefully it is. If it somehow continues, I won't be picking up anymore in the future.
