Dust

This book jumps right back into the action and keeps the plot-twist-heavy formula cooking. It was so good that I kind of ignored my family for a couple of evenings as I tore through it. But the real joy is that the conclusion was perfectly satisfying - a rare final book that gracefully wraps up a big idea.

Watched the Apple TV show and was pleased to discover that the first season is only 30 chapters of this 84 chapter book, with two more books to follow. The world built by Howey is both unique and fascinating and pulls you in with compelling characters and a desire to know how, where, and even when it exists. A great introduction to a trilogy.

Ich bin durch die gleichnamige Serie auf Apple TV+ auf die Romantrilogie von Hugh Howey aufmerksam geworden. Ich habe zuerst die erste Staffel der Serie geschaut und mir danach den ersten Band der Romantrilogie geholt.

Für Interessierte, die auch erst die TV-Serie schauten sei angemerkt, dass die TV-Serie lediglich das erste Drittel des Buches abdeckt, sodass es noch viel zu lesen gibt. Das Buch ist deutlich düsterer geschrieben, jedoch viel klarer und verständlicher als manche Sachverhalte in der Serie umgesetzt wurden.

An manchen Stellen fand ich das Buch sehr düster und ich musste mich an diesen Stellen durchkämpfen. Sprachstil, etc. haben mir gut gefallen und ich fand das Buch sehr spannend und wollte immer wissen wie es weitergeht.
